Have you looked at seeing if there is any help?

And smurf that smurf. I told my dad that I had an abortion and he was like I dont understand why you didnt go through with the pregnancy and give the baby to me. And I dont understand how you could do that to your child.   But my dad is a whole 'nother story.

If you need anyone to talk to about anything, please PM me. <3

As nice as that sounds, they dont do it for free or a sliding scale. :mind wanders:

OP my pp told me when I was going for my second abortion that I would need half of the bill and then we could have done a payment plan of sorts. Can you see if that is the case there?

Fountain Street Church Choice Fund
If you live in Michigan, or if you are a resident of another state coming to Michigan for an abortion and if you are eight weeks or further into your pregnancy, the Fountain Street Church Fund may be able to help you. Ask your clinic to contact the fund for you—they do not accept calls directly from patients.

Jane Doe Loan Fund
810-238-3631
The Jane Doe Loan Fund can help pay for your abortion if you are getting an abortion in one of these counties, even if you live outside this area: Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer, Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Huron, Tuscola and Sanilac. If you live in any of these counties but need to go somewhere else for your abortion, the Jane Doe Loan Fund can also help. The Fund is overseen by Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan, but if you live in this area you can call the Fund for help no matter where you are getting your abortion. Call the number above and ask to speak with someone about a no-interest loan for abortion.

That's not true, I was without medical and had minimal income and PP had me call some number to see if I qualified for financial assistance.

OP see if there's a local PP near you on their site, you may qualify for assistance

There are agencies to help fund abortions. Planned Parenthood has The Justice Fund, and it is sliding scale based. PM me if you want to talk more, or just ask me here if you have questions

I have to wait until after Christmas for the clinics and such to open back up. But they keep telling me outrageous prices and that there's no help. I thought for the longest time that Medicaid covered it. Because honestly, I'm already a single teen mom on foodstamps, medical, rental assistance and cash assistance. Yet I'm still having issues with utilities, my portion of the rent, and car insurance. What's gonna happen when I have another baby? It makes sense to just get the 3-500 out of the way now and save them thousands more in welfare later. I know I can't handle another baby right now, but I cannot utilize my right as a woman because I'm under the poverty line. Doesn't make sense to me.

You're right, it doesn't make sense. I'm sorry you are going through this. Would adoption be an option for you?

Honestly, no. I already know that once I feel the kicks, see the ultrasounds, and give birth I will get way too attached and it won't happen. I'll end up keeping the baby if I don't get it done before 12 weeks.

I'd feel the same way.

I hope you can find a way to pay for the abortion. I'll be thinking of you.

I'm in Michigan too, I dont know where in the state you are, but there's this place called Northland Family Planning, you can google them, they have offices in Westland, Southfield and Sterling Heights, I know that they do offer financial assistance, I was only 19 when I got pregnant with my oldest and I considered abortion for a couple weeks, if you are low income, on food stamps, etc. they will help you however they can with the cost, it will definitely be less than $300-500, I think they quoted me $150 back then..

Planned Parenthood quoted me 120 after we did the sliding scale thing. Seriously, call them and mention the justice fund. We just answered a few questions and they offered their help. It helped out SO much.
