SO's Sister is in Labor

posted 23rd Dec
So my SO sister is in labor right now and she is only 2 1/2 centimeters dilated but they say that by her fluid levels she should be at a 5 and that her fluid is low. Does this put her more at risk for a c section? I didn't even know that you can tell dilation by fluid levels.

I have never heard of them checking your dilation by fluid level, seems like an exscuse for them to do a c-section. Tell her to hold out as long as they will let her! C-sections suck!

I'm certainly no expert, but that sounds strange to me.
Some people make it to nearly 10 CM and their water doesn't break until the bitter end, or the doctor has to break it. While other people's water breaks with absolutely no cervical change.
Is the baby showing sines of distress?

Not from what it sounds like. She just told us what i typed and that they were inducing her. It was really strange to me too. Her water hasnt broken but they say her fluid is low and that even though she is only 2 1/2 cm that she should be 5 by the fluid levels. So weird

See thats what I think. I also think they are going to force her into a c- section. I told her that she just needed to wait it out and not get induced because it will most likely end in c-section and she is so naive to this whole process and didn't educate herself at all.

Did she get confused? Because if her fluid level is 2.5 she would need a c section, fluid levels need to be above 5 for safety but the like to see fluid levels above 10cm.
