re: Santa Claus??

posted 23rd Dec
I do Santa and Elf on the Shelf. My youngest is 18 months she loves finding Belle. I don't think they are ever too young to start with Santa.

But the stocking is from Santa which I steal a coupe of days before Christmas. That's a family tradition that y parents always did. We lived waking up and seeing our stockings gone. I think 2 presents fron Santa and everything else is from us. The bigger presents are always fom me.

I love the surprise on my kids face that is what makes it special.

i dont see the harm in telling my son a few are from santa.. its the spirit of xmas and just makes it more magical and exciting for him. he even wants to make cookies tomorrow night to leave out for him since he saw it on one of his tv shows

So does LO, but he is at his dad's Xmas eve at 11am - Xmas day 11am.   so i don't get to see him wake up early and run to the tree, we have brunch at my parents and then he'll get his gifts at our place

My daughter is old enough to understand, but didn't ask last year. She believes in Santa, but she doesn't really pay attention to what was from who when she's tearing into the wrapping paper.

We;ve never done santa with out kids.. my ex husband was totally against it.. and I'm fine with that. I hear other moms worrying about hiding wrapping paper.. trying to figure out whats from them and what's from santa.. no thanks.

my youngest though.. she's almost 4. she hears about santa at school. ..and firmly believes it. I told try to convince her either way. She'll have presents...and I'll leave it at that. I told her older sis and brothers to stop telling her there is no santa... no reason to ruin it for her or argue... because there's no telling her otherwise anyway!

last year he really understood more so about xmas, and the whole idea of santa coming. this year hes more into it because he pays attention to tv and sees whats going to 'happen.' so hes really excited, told me last night at the store to get stuff to make chocolate chip cookies because they are santas favorite. if he wants to believe then im not going to ruin the joy for him and ill sacrifice him thinking all the presents are from mommy and daddy, and label most from the big guy

we have gifts under the tree that are from us, and every day LO wakes up asking if Santa came. I'm like nope, still just from mommy and jake. I have disney cars christmas paper for his santa gifts, and those won't go out until he goes to his dads xmas eve.

they're so smart! i always thought i'd do just the stocking from santa, because of how devastated i was finding out he wasn't real, i figured it would be less disappointing when he finds out the truth. but with everything on tv/movies, and seeing Santa at the mall, it's just easier to go along with it. & he loves it, how can i take that away from him? Christmas would pretty much suck if it wasn't for him, it's not the same as when we were little, so he gets me more excited about it by being so thrilled!

yea tv makes it hard to believe in something thats not santa, its everywhere. but he does somehow know about mall santas.. like he asked me one day if that was the real santa or a pretend one helping out, and he wasnt even concerned like he still understood there was a santa, but he had helpers at the mall. i never said that to him so i wonder where he gets all this info

Carson kept calling me Santa the other day and "Santa mom" and asking if I help Santa and stuff. and then one day at the mall, some charity thing had a gift wrap station and he asked me if they were helping wrap presents for Santa and I told him yes, and for busy parents/grandparents. I just don't know what his father tells him about Santa or Christmas

Yeah, we have several gifts under there but she's too busy trying to guess and trying to peek to ask about Santa.
