so worn out!!

posted 23rd Dec
LO wakes up 2-4 times a night to nurse, still and lately I've been lucky to get 5 hours of sleep. But last night I was up until 1am wrapping presents and he nursed twice after I fell asleep, finally deciding to be up for the day at 4am. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep, but napping won't be an option today. Bah!!! Id give anything for this kid to sleep through the night. I wish there was a magical cure for his constant need to nurse at night. He is 8 months old.

My son didn't sleep through the night at that age either but now he's 15 months and sleeps through most of the night but wakes up a few times to nurse in the early morning.

DD is 8 months and has nights where she only wakes up once and nights where she wakes up 394827384 times.

I know your pain i have been where you are more than once, if he is 8 months old he is old enough to try baby cereal i always put it in a bottle of breast milk for their last feeding.

He doesn't take bottles, and I wouldn't mix his bottles with cereal anyways.

But he does eat solid meals. He normally has a vegetable and maybe some dry toast for dinner. Eating solids doesn't change his nursing habits. Hes pretty regularly nursing every 2 hours, or more, around the clock. Last night he nursed at 1am, 3am and was up for the day at 4am.

My son woke up three times a night until very recently..he is three. He has very bad eczema and once he was done with waking up to feed, he was up to scratch. I have definitely been there. I have an 8 bed time since his birth. Hang on

I'm sorry momma. I went through this with DS for a while. There were days my heart would palpitate and I would fall asleep feeding him :/. But he started sleeping through the night at 6 months. I couldn't imagine having to go through that any longer. But DS also would take 4 or 5 20 minute naps but I could never nap with him. I just can't fall asleep that fast.

I thought about consolidating his three naps into one big one mid day to see if it would help but he gets soooo cranky he will just either be miserable and bawling, or just pass out. I'm hoping in the next few months hr will just do it on his own.

I feel you. My LO is 6 months old and he nurses every hour at night for some reason. During the day it's every 2-3 hours. It sucks. I actually want to start him on some solids and get him on a routine but between taking care of my 3 year old, my DH and preparing for Christmas it's not happening until after New Years.
