Contractions after d and c

I've been having contractions pretty steadily for the past about 8 hrs. Is this normal?! Is it just my uterus trying to shrink back down? This is some of the worst pain I've had. And the worst experience. I was awake for the whole procedure and was only given a muscle relaxer before it started. Every contraction is a constant reminder that I lost my baby and god does that freaking hurt.

Ok thank you! I've just read so many stories where people were like oh I barely had any pain and no bleeding and I'm like wtf. I don't have a lot of bleeding at all and haven't passed clots or anything but this pain sucks.

You're not passing any blood with the contractions? On a scale of 1 - 10, how painful are they/ and how far apart are they?

There is blood but it's just like what a heavy period would be like. I haven't filled a pad or anything. The pain varies from 4-8 and recently they've been ten min apart.

If they stay 10 mins a part, and painful like that, I'd call the hospital where you had it done to ask should you come in.

My dr did it right in his office. I guess I'll give them a call.

Really? Mine had me go to hospital and he did it there. I insisted on being sedated.
Please do call though. and if he's got a paging service, don't hesitate to use it. Better safe than sorry ya know?

Thanks I did give them a call. I wish I had been sedated. They gave me a muscle relaxer and then literally went at it. I felt every single thing. They told me it was normal to keep having contractions so I'm dealing with it. I can't even pick up my daughter yet  

My OB did try and say I should be awake during, but I was like no. Absolutely not. No way, no how.
Are you feeling any better yet? You should insist they give you a script for a few vicodin. My OB wrote the script before the surgery so I could fill it right away upon being discharged. and you are further along than me.

Glad you're feeling better now.
I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and it's actually starting to pass.
Still feel crappy a lot, but can actually eat sometimes now lol.
