Quoting 1inpink2inblue:" Because i am court ordered to deal with him that is why. His family pushed him to fight for some kind ... [snip!] ... always take advantage of the fact that he has visitation rights but when he does I have no choice but to let him see her."
And I get if he WANTS to be there, you have to let him. But if he doesnt, then why even push? Why ask? If he doesnt ever want to support/see the kiddo then go back to court to say "Hey its been 6 months since hes even seen the kid" or "He sees our child once every 3 months and he doesnt even try to pay, its messing with my kids head, do something!" And they will take away his visitation because he clearly doesnt want to be there. The good thing Ive seen come from that is the mother is less hassled because she doesnt have to push for him to see the kid and if he does become detrimental to seeing the child they will take away visitation (no hurting the kid) but make him pay. I have a different view on making him pay.... but at least the kiddo wont have to see a halfass dad.
So I would make note of when he pays, calls, sees the kid, what he buys, etc... but dont push for him to see or do anything. Let it be on his own accord. And if he doesnt do anything, take him to court to have his rights stripped down more. If he doesnt care, why should you?
