I think a big part of the issues it that their court order leaves things up for interpretation...the other thing I noticed was the issue with giving notice for taking the child out of state. She barely gave him any notice at all...how would he have the time to prevent her from leaving with a day or two notice?

My order says 30 days for out of country, 15 days for out of province...

I think your whole holiday schedule is messed up...the only overnight holidays we have are Christmas & New Years...everything else is 9 am-6 pm the day OF the holiday...and technically he does get her...this weekend was Maddy's weekend at her dad's and he also has Christmas Eve so she is there all weekend and she'll be back at 9 am Christmas morning.

Our order doesn't state any time frame of the notice of going out of state. We were only going 10 mins over the nc/va state line, and we were only going for a few hours. Not to mention, I only live about 8 miles from the state line, so going out of state isn't a big deal, it happens all the time.

Nothing happened. He texted me and gave me a 5 minute time frame to have her there or was calling the sheriff, and didn't hear anything from anyone else.

my ex tried pulling what you did...

if he would already have her.. holiday superceding it does not mean he LOSES time with her. You follow NORMAL parenting time until the holiday schedule falls into place.

I refused to allow anything in my papers about needing my ex's permission to travel out of state for similar reasons. I live an hour from the boarder... but we go to the zoo in the next state over almost weekly in the summer. I'm not asking permission everytime I do that.

I don't have to have his permission, I just have to tell him. That's what I did, nothing he can do about it.
