Names...REALLY?

So DH and I were talking about names (I'm not pregnant my sister is I'm trying to help her find a middle name) and I said something that I like Alijah well absolutely LOVE it...if we have a child I want to name it Alijjah if it's a boy...well DH goes "No, I want a normal American name..." Really???   I don't think Alijah/Elijah is am off the wall name... What is your opinion?

Elijah is a great name, Alijah is a horrible slaughtering of a good name.

My sons name is Elijah. Absolutely love it!

I thought Alijah was some effed up form of Aaliyah. Not some effed up form of Elijah.

Alijah looks dumb imo. Elijah is a normal name so I don't get what he means.

That's what I thought when I first looked at it also!

That's true. And I thought she was going for Aaliyah at first too lol.

He doesn't like EITHER name...He only like super common names...and he doesn't like this thing about ALL three of my kids have "A" first names, that's my thing and I don't plan on changing it if we ever have a kid...

The name Elijah ...is pronounced with an "Eh" sound at the beginning, and that's the normal way to spell it. Alijah - for one, isn't a real name and two, is pronounced with an "AH" sound, so technically it's not even really a form of Elijah.

me and my sister are both B names. i always found that annoying as hell. thats just my opinion tho as child in that situation.
