I could be dead in a week, so I'm going to buy my daughter what I want today. I said your method is a good idea, but I dont need to impliment it today. I will raise her however I want. Even if I planned on raising her to be a brat, its no ones business to tell me how to celebrate or treat her when it comes to material posessions. You feel I am excessive with my christmas gifts this year. cool. Other than that, I didnt ask.

DD is getting 6 presents diapers, bear, 3toys and clothes thats it and half of it is second hand DS is getting 7 things clothes a chair and 5 toys thats plenty and hes almost two lol i have to agree overboard although why she got so upset i still dont get?

Seems like a lot for a 18 month old. As you said she loves crayons, buy her some crayons & paper! But you can do what you want youre right. But if your asking for advice or leaving room from someone to give an opinion (which is what you ARE doing by posting on this site!) you should expect someone to do just that GIVE AN OPINION. Which is what I am going to do... I dont think you posted this because you felt guilty I think you posted to get a high five for spoiling for daughter that is why you got so defensive over someone telling you that you went overboard. Im sure you felt like super mom being able to spoil her with lots of gift (because every parent wants to give their child everything some just think its not the material things that count, some do) & having someone disagree with how much you decided to buy her isnt what you expected IMO! Anyone can tell by your list that you dont actually feel guilty that you didnt buy enough. JS =)

This post just pissed me off... ugh. You just listed a smurfload of things any other child would be happy to pick one of and you feel like a terrible mother because you couldn't get her more? I hope you know that teaching a child to appreciate ANYTHING given to them is a part of being a good parent... I cannot believe the ridiculousness of this post. Raising spoiled and entitled children seems to be the norm now.

Yup. That is the way I seen it! I think everyone is entitled to do what they want with their money because I dont want her arguing that my opinion doesnt matter because its her money... But I didn't see this post as anything but wanting a pat on the back or to be told how amazing she is for the amount she bought.

It's more than my kid's getting, and I'm pretty sure your DD will be happy just the same.
