I would never have an elective csection. My emergency one was awful and unless I can't VBAC again next time I will never have another csection.

I would never have an elective one just for smurfs n giggles. but I have to get a scheduled one done. I guess it's easier to do scheduled ones over mergenxy or I you're already contracting.

I have terrible arthritis and I have had a lot of medical problems which is why I considered it in the first place. Now the doctor feels the baby is too big to fit anyway. I feel for me it is a safer option even though it is major surgery.

I've never personally had a c-section but I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would ever CHOOSE to have one. Like, people do realize it's major surgery right? WAAAYY more risky then vaginal birth and it takes a hell of a lot to recover too. You don't get to hold your baby right away, you have to stay in the hospital longer, etc etc. Plus if it doesn't end up being all you ever dreamed and you want to try a vaginal birth with your next kid. Well, too bad. Because most OB's are not VBAC friendly. I mean, no offense or anything to you if that's what you're doing. I just genuinely don't get it. I can't see a single good reason to do it if you have a choice.

I have one scheduled for January 7th. But she could always be here earlier.

That's dumb. The doctor can't know how big the baby is, ultrasounds are off as much as 2lbs. I have sciatica and fibromyalgia, and I still delivered 2 kids vaginally, the first one was almost 8lbs and my epi stopped working, and my 2nd was measured at 8lbs while I was in labor and said he was going to be bigger...he was 7lbs 6oz

I have arthritis, a fractured T1 aand a bum shoulder that pulls on the muscles from my spine to my shoulder. I still managed to give birth vaginally. Most 'big baby's' are under 8 pounds-normal weight- when born.

This is my first and last. For health reasons it is just the best option for me. Believe me I do not feel it is going to be easy by any means.

Good luck... Having arthristis shouldnt stop you. My friend has bad RA and had a natural birth and her doctor told her to have a ce section and she said no, and her labor and birth and recovery were great and normal.. Ive never had a c section but i cant imagine having my muscles sliced open. And not being able to use them. But good luck!

Srsly knock it off. If her AND her doctor think it is the best option for her, than it is. Just because a lot of you are super anti csection doesn't mean everyone is.

I have not had an elected one but I have heard a lot of good things about it.
