Engagement Rings

My engagement ring will be here soon. I can't wait!
It's a sterling silver band with a one carrot Emerald heart with a crown of diamonds. The heart is being held by two clasped hands.
I know some might say it's simple but an emerald is what I wanted and we aren't the richest people ever. I think it's beautiful.
What do your engagement rings look like? and how do you feel about them?

I have an engagement ring. It's .88 carat marquise diamond solitaire.
SO is buying me a new set though and I want an Emerald  

I don't have a ring... my mom's is a sapphire though!

I prefer simple rings to be honest!!

A claddagh ring? Gorgeous! I think those are cute.

Do you have a pic? Mine is emeralds too and most people say "oh that's not a real engagement ring" but ... Dude wtf makes an engagement ring? I would wear a piece of wire if that's what SO gave me.

I think Emeralds are gorgous, and its awesome because its different   My original engagement ring is a very simple white gold band, and the "diamond" isnt even real lol. To me its just a rock, and I didnt want him to spend an arm and a leg when I knew I was getting a different wedding set.

I honestly am not a big fan of diamonds. I wanted an emerald because green is my favorite color and I think it's such a bright beautiful color.
I like simple rings too though. I like silver. Don't need gold or anything too flashy.

Mine is simple and I love it, though sometimes I wish it was silver or white gold instead. The setting twists where it meets and there's a small diamond.

I want something like this though

Mines like a .65ct or some weird odd off # haha marquise center stone. With two smaller marquises on each side. Then a channel on each side of square diamonds. I think it's about 1ct total. White gold. My wedding band will be channel set squares. It goes on top and bottom cause it's actually a solitare enhancer but it matches my ring perfectly. And it's hard I find a curved square diamond channel band since its hard to curve them. I need a curved one to go around the marquise. They tried to get me to offset the bands and do a single straight ban but it looked smurffy.

I literally cannot find any type of band to go with my original engagement ring and I've been searching for yrs. That's why he's just going to buy me a different set.

Ooo that's pretty.
Mine looks kinda like that but the band is silver and the emerald is the shape of a heart.
Fiance says yeah it's a Claddagh.
He could have gotten me a plastic ring off a milk jug and I wouldn't love him any less lol.

Mine is a 3 stone princess cut. All three diamonds equal 1 karat together, and the band is 14k white gold. I love it. DH picked it himself, all he knew was that I preferred princess cut.




I used a fake wedding band for almost a year because I couldn't find one that wouldn't take from the detailing of the engagement band. To sauter them together they would have to shave some of it off. Finally, a couple weeks before our 1st wedding anniversary I found a contoured band I liked, DH decided to purchase 2, 1 for the wedding band and 1 as a first year present and had them wrapped and sautered to my engagement ring.

This is how it looked before we got them all sautered (basically looks the same now, except it's all aligned and symmetrical):
