Do You Agree With The Idea of Marriage?
posted 22nd Dec
A friend of mine was telling me today how he doesn't agree with marriage. One of his arguments against it is that it's just government tax enslavement.
So I was curious... how many of you ladies do and do not believe in marriage?

I believe in commenting yourself to another person for life but I can understand why some would not want to make it a legal commitment. I think you can have marriage without the paperwork.

Read this as "Do you believe in Miscarriage?" at first.
I think it's time for me to go home.

I think its funny, the people who say they don't need a paper to tell them they're married.
When that's what marriage is. You can't be married without that "piece of paper"
Anyway, I love marriage. I think its a big commitment and a good step. People ask why they need to do it, but I ask why not?

I personally don't believe in it. You can have a committed long term relationship without a wedding.
It's different for everyone though.

I said Not Sure.
SO and I live together, share money, share household things, if he needs something I help him if I need something he helps me.
So I think we are basically married.
A piece of paper is not going to change what we are, though it is going to change our taxes.
We plan on getting married for ease of him adopting DD, and for ease of buying a house together and such. But we already have that commitment.

You can have a marriage without a wedding though, too.

That too, just mainly need to leave work time

I believe in marriage.
Over here it doesn't affect your taxes as such. Just living together and taking into account your household income affects what benefits and stuff you have to pay without getting married.

Marriage is recognized by law though, you can't really be "basically" married, if youre not married.

I believe in marriage. I believed in marriage before I was married. My husband and I don't even file taxes together.

The government might screw you at tax time, but they don't actually have anything to do with marriage.
I believe in committing yourself to one person until death do you part.
