I agree.

It isn't here. But what I was saying was that we act like we are married.

I believe in committing to someone else because I believe it truly helps a person grow more than any other non-committal relationship, but do you need a legal statement to make it legitimate? Absolutely not. In the past and until today, marriage was about fulfilling earthly needs, but as we move into another more conscious era, committed relationships should be more about raising consciousness and growing spiritually together.

I don't believe in it for me. There's no reason for me to get married. I'm financially independent, have 2 kids to protect, and enjoy being a single parent. I will not give up my name or my independence to be some "wife of."

If by chance I meet someone who wants me just as I am, and does not want hinder my independence, I will happily settle down with them at some point. But marriage itself is irrelevant to a good relationship, IMO. It's just a piece of paper that binds you to someone else. I do not want to be bound.

I believe in commitment and I agree with the idea of marriage, but not in a religious sense.

I believe in doing whatever mutually makes you and your partner both happy, weather that is marriage or not.

marriage is beautiful when it is betwen 2 people who love each other and want to make a life together.

I have been both legally married, and my marriage was valuable to me, not just a piece of paper, and I also have been in a relationship where even without the paper, i considered us married in a sense.

Life and marriage/relationships are what the people in it decide to make of it.

Not here I can't ... I have to have a celebrant perform a ceremony for it to be classed a legal marriage

Marriage is a social construct created by man. I do not believe that it is necessary to have a lasting relationship or to raise children together.

If people want to get married fine, but if they don't that is not a big deal either. And marriage doesn't necessarily change your taxes. My dad and stepmom have been married for almost 12 years and they still file as single.
