re: Serial Killers D&D

I definitely do. I have a slight fascination with serial killers, especially Jeffrey Dahmer. I've read and watched multiple things about him, his interviews, etc. He showed clear mental issues in high school and while in the military before he was discharged for his excessive drinking.

Jeffrey Dahmer is really an interesting case because of how abnormal his actions were even for a serial killer and the fact he felt guilt and remorse for his actions. i think its commen to have signs at a young age that there was issues. but its not always true. iv done alot of research on serial killers and its not always the case that there was signs. there several cases that the person was the total opposite. no abuse no trauma. the human brain is an amazing thing.

I definitely think there are signs. But I don't think that the killings can be prevented.

they say three signs are someone who hurts animals/powerless people, pyro-maniac and wet the bed are the three main indicators.

i like that first responce, only hindsight is 20/20. if we locked up every kid that wet tbe bed or wanted to play with fire well idk man. thats a lot of kids.

as for molestation i did some research on this a while back for personal reasons, more people than you would ever imagine are involved in molestation or some sort of juvenile incest.


i think a serial killer would be a really special combination of these, even someone who shows all these traits could be okay in society.
you never do know, thats the thing.

I always wondered if he would end up in the news for murdering someone...

once as a pizza delivery guy, some dog got off the chain after he delivered the pizza, and lunged at him I guess... my dad strangled the dog and hung the dog by the chain off a tree... I wondered about that familys reaction for years...

I agree. I think if more people didn't ignore the signs/were more aware of the signs of mental illnesses, things like that wouldn't happen as much if at all. A lot of doctors are quick to hand out pills like they are candy rather than helping people get to the ROOT of the issue.

The Zodiac Killer is my favorite, it was so mysterious the way his mind worked. I also favor the Green River Killer, very close to where I live now. As I'm reading furthur into the Gacy case, it's strange to me that he was a very successful man before turning around and beginning to kill. He had a 15k a year job in 1966, that's a LOT of money. He had a wife and two kids and described his life as perfect. But I think that the denial from his father and not feeling able to talk about being molested by a male made him react outwardly. I don't know. I have been angry before and went through a pyro phase but I can't even look at dead people that AREN'T gorey.

What a traumatic thing for you to go through, especially as a child. Like someone said, if mental health care were more easilly accessible these events would happen less. I hope your dad gets an evaluation.

And what's crazy about him is he was never caught! No clue who he is, so he completely scammed every single person in law enforcement. It's crazy.

What about the BTK killer? The man was married for a couple decades, had a family, worked at the church, and then all of a sudden, BAM.
