but if we legalize all drugs, no one is going to want to get clean because they don't have to.... so, that part of it doesn't make much sense really.

hard core drugs are dangerous and make people do dangerous things when they need a fix. Legalizing those drugs will not curtail the problem. Selling those.drugs is promoting murder and theft. Its why I equate the two. Have you ever been a part of a druggy's household? Its not fun and highly dangerous.

Btw, I was raped when I was 15, got pregnant from it and had a stillborn. Don't preach to me in whats offensive, because I couldn't care less in this case.

I said decriminalized not legalized. There is a difference. And do you honestly think that putting people in prison for drugs gets them clean? No, it doesn't. In fact prisons are rampant with drugs.

Learn your legal terms. Legalization and decriminalization are not the same thing. Drug addicts do not always commit crimes that hurt others. In fact a large number of them never hurt anyone. Putting them in prison does not solve the problem at all. It's really stupid to punish someone for having an addiction. That is not the right way to handle it.

Marijuana and a few other drugs absolutely should be 100% legal. All others decriminalized.
And yes prostitution should be legalized as well.

Actually if they were legal the murder rates would plummet. The thefts as well because the market would drop the prices of them.

Actually it probably will. And why would you treat someone selling drugs the same as a hardcore criminal?

Even in jail they treat non-violent offenders differently like they get more privileges.

Not always. It depends on the crime and the prison. And the way the environment is set up in jail it can turn a non violent person into a violent person. You're setting otherwise good people up for failure by putting them in that environment.

Hard core drugs will never be legalized, nor should they be. They're too easy to overdose on, powerfully addicting, and cause people to act like dumbasses to get what they want. Drugs ruin lives and families. Smurf, perscription narcotics ruin lives as well, even if they can get them legally! Price drop or not, if the addict doesn't have the money to buy them, they will find a way to get that money to get their fix. Perhaps there's too many junkies in my familys that range from pill heads, meth, crack for me to see it as anything but horrible.

Selling hardcore drugs should not be decriminalized in any way, shape, or form   Should we be going about helping those who get busted for personal posession differntly? Of course. Make it easier for people to access quality detox and treatment? Absoloutly. But should we make it "ok" to continue to sell them? Hell no.

I'm pretty sure most of them will be decriminalized at some point. And does keeping them illegal stop people from ruining lives or overdosing on them?

I really don't see it happening. I don't think the addicts themselves should be punished, though. Forced into rehab perhaps, but certainly not our overcrowded prisons. We focus too much on the addicts and petty smurf instead of the people who sell it. I think if it weren't illegal there would be more ruined lives and overdoeses.

I doubt it. People are going to do drugs legal or not. Plus with the amount of money saved you can create good detox programs.
