Preparing for a girl.
posted 22nd Dec
I'm not going to lie, I am beyond scared to be raising a little girl.
I guess I'm so used to my son and him being tougher than I picture girls being.
For those of you who have both boy and girls, how different was the change for you?
like, diaper changes, bathing.. etc.

I intend to raise them the same. Girls aren't delicate wimps. And this baby is far stronger and feistier than her big brothers were in utero, so I figure she'll be ruling the house and have him wrapped around her tiny fingers in no time.

No different. I mean yeah I get to buy girly things but Skye is as crazy as any boy lol

As far as infants go, it's literally just a color change. You wipe the same areas, wash the same areas, etc.
Clothing, you just buy more dresses, tutus, bows, headbands. You get to dress her up. But that's really about it. They don't get different until they're older and you can't exactly prepare for that.

I went from having 3 boys to having a girl. Seriously the weirdest thing in the world for me. Changing her diaper for the first few months was I just expected to see a wiener every time I changed her. As far as being rough...well shes 3 and she beats the smurf out of the boys who are 7, 9 and 11....shes such a damn tom boy

My four year old daughter is tougher than her 6 year old boy cousin. But, she loves dresses and bows lol. She's a tough girl, but also pretty girly at the same time. Definitely no more delicate than any other child. Lol

I realized today that at some point I might just have a teenage daughter...and that scares the ever loving smurf out of me (my sister's 16 year old makes me go a LOT)---eep!
I refuse to think of her past 5 til I have to, haha

That's how I was...play with wild snakes in a party dress and beat up boys who disrespected me in middle school...
Hope she's just like me ;)

God I hope my daughter is blessed with my husbands genes and not mine. He has no problem losing weight or anything, me...smurf. I dont want her to struggle like I do with weight.

My weight problems were (and are) my own doing, not genetics. I just plan to get skinny and stay there after she comes so she never sees fat me and neve sees me feel awful about myself. I lost 30 pre pregnancy and felt great, just another 15-20 (plus baby weight, but so far that's 2 lbs)
