Another baby
posted 22nd Dec
My son is only about a month old and I think its way to early for me to be wanting another baby. My son is still in the nicu because he was born 15 weeks early. He is my first baby and I didn't get to bond with him that long. I miss and love the bonding of pregnancy!! I don't want another baby so soon but I feel like I need the bonding. HELP!!

By the time you had another your first would be out of hospital so that wont help with bonding, your baby needs you more then anything and depends on you for everything just remember that, you can still bond with him even if he isnt home yet.

Can you go to thr hospital and bond with your baby now? I had my daughter 10 weeks early and I could go to the hospital when ever I wanted . I didn't leave most days.
Sorry I'm on my phone if this post looks crazy.

I can go to the hospital at anytime but it depends on the nurse if I can hold him or not because he is so tiny. I held him for the first time the other day and I almost cried!! He is so precious!!!

I know I can bond with him at the hospital but its not the same. I can't bring him home. I really haven't had the whole mother experience. I can't wait to bring my son home and take care of him. It's like the first 3 months of his life he will spend in the nicu and that kills me

Ask to do skin to skin when your able to hold him. It will help you bond. Do you help with feeding and changing his diapers while there. You should beable to take care of your child still. I did everything for my LO during her hospital stay and it helped me get through the four weeks she was in the nicu

I am not sure but it kind of sounds like something I am going through. This is my 3rd preemie and with each I went through this. I just had my daughter 2 weeks ago at 29 weeks and I cry almost every day because I still want to be pregnant. I feel robbed of my pregnancy. I was just telling my husband I should be 31 weeks pregnant right now and still have another 8 weeks to go. I get sad when I see pregnant women and I know a lot that are pregnant right now. It is crazy but I actually get jealous. I am jealous of my sister who is 36 weeks right now.

Yes I help with all of that. I'm a first time mom and its just weird not being able to hold my son when I want.

That's exactly what I'm going through!! I was due march 13th a week after my 21st birthday. My son was born 3 weeks ago at 25 weeks and 2 days. Pregnant women make me wanna cry. I look at all my clothes and think the last time I wore that I was pregnant . I wanted to experience ALL the joys of pregnancy not just half.

Yup I totally understand. I looked at my bathtub the other day and had a break down BC the last time I had a bath I was pregnant. It then made me think about how I was still supposed to be pregnant. My hormones are out of control but it can be a pretty traumatic thing.

That's exactly how I feel!! I just want to break down and cry sometimes. It's sad but I wouldn't take any of it back. I love my son and I wouldn't trade him for the world!!!

I felt the same way until my little girl came home. I felt so empty! She was with me for so long then when she was born and stayed in the nicu for 7 weeks 6 days everytime I came home and she was there I felt like I needed another baby to fill that void!

I have that empty feeling... I think for me its only gonna get worse before it gets better because my husband deploys on the 5th of January and my son isnt scheduled to come home until march so I will be all alone... **TEARS**

I know how you feel. I was 3 hours away from home for the first 4 weeks. I was alone. No friends or family came (except on the weekends). Then we moved her to a hospital an hr away, then we were surrounded by family and friends. When your LO comes home you will have your hands full and your days will pass by so fast. sorry to hear your DH is being deployed. Do they have an expected dated for your LO to come home?

I'm from North Carolina and I'm in Texas so I'm far from home. My husband comes back in August-September time. Like it would be easier if my little man wasn't gonna be there for long but my due date was march 13th. That's 15 weeks from the day he was born.
