Boil under breast?

posted 22nd Dec
Could be caused by sweat. What do you know about it? What to do to cure it?

TMI but I get them on my bum- partially from sweat, partially from sitting in a chair 12 hrs a day. The doc always just tells me to keep it clean and dry.

Ugh,   its very embarrassing to even post this. I am a clean person but I sweat so much under my large D breast. I seem to have a boil, size of a bit smaller than a marble. Looks to have pus/fluid..ugh just gross. Its kinda painful. Never had one before. I did some research online, but wanted to see if any BG ladies have experienced it and what I should do. Like do I need to go to a doc?

I have had a couple of these. Do you have larger breasts? I'm pretty blessed in that area to say the least so that's why I ask. Sweat is a big culprit and the bacteria that seeps into your pores from them getting sweaty. The worst one I had that actually "popped" and bled like crazy was pretty large. It never got a "head" or open spot to it either. Anyways, try taking a hot bath and getting a wash rag and putting Epsom salt on the wash rag and putting it directly to the spot on your breast and leaning back to soak. This way the salt dissolves into the skin and the outside of the wash cloth is getting the hot water. I had to do this for a month or so with the worst one and one day I got out of the tub and looked at it and it just started oozing.   Good luck tho. I know they can be uncomfortable and unsightly. I've also been told by doctors that always wearing underwire bras can have an effect as well. So when you are at home or sleeping, let those babies breathe with either a sports bra or none at all. Also, lastly....make sure your washing UNDER your breasts with plain ol' dial bar soap and never ever use any sort of lotion on the girls. Hope this helps.

If you go to a pharmacy they should have a drawing ointment and that'll get all the crap up to the surface. Keep it covered and try not to touch it because it can spread them

Yes I have large breasts and I wear underwire bras. I have had it for a 3-4 days but I became a SAHM last Sunday and have been at home mostly and don't wear a bra when I am home. It does have a head to it.....and yes this helps a lot, thanks ;-)

Cut it open with something sterile. I had one on the base of my head. It was freakin disgusting. I didn't have insurance. Use peroxide to clean it out.

Me popping it/cutting it sounds scary( wahhh, yes I am a BIG baby ), but I am hoping it will burst on its own since its so tender and seriously looks like it ready to pop anytime now.

if you do want to drain it yourself, use a safety pin but wipe it with alcohol first. and don't follow the other's advice on using peroxide. I just attended a wound care seminar and learned that peroxide is only good for one thing. getting blood stains out of clothing. And it does the same to your red blood cells in a wound, destroys them.
Anyway...the safety pin is so thin it shouldn't hurt.
Let your water run for a minute until it's pretty hot, then wet a washcloth with it and put it directly on the boil until the washcloth isn't hot anymore. Then get the safety pin or even a small pair of facial scissors and clean it with alcohol and just poke a small hole...if it's ready then you should have to stab it or anything...just enough to get a hole and then drain it. I know it's gross, lol.
when you're done...rinse the wound with just regular water and put a band aid on it. if you have any saline, that's really good for it too. change the bandaid often.

Today , I washed it very gently , more like tapped it, with a warm soft baby rag with a little soap and dried it well and kept a dry small clean cloth under my breast to absord any wetness and then 30 min later, I checked and it had started draining on its own, like a light yellow-green color, got as much out as I could and I cleaned it up and dried it again.

and thanks for the extra info and help!
