That is awesome you have such a great mother! My mother and I are very different people, we've had a lot of issues in the past but we are finally getting along pretty well and I really want to have a good relationship with her.
And I agree, all they need at this age is the basics and love!

Well I hope you continue to get alone. I think everyone deserve to have a mom that they can confide in. You seem like an amazing mommy. Keep up the good work .

Thanks! It's really stressful to DH, he feels like he doesn't give us enough. But he works his ASS off at a job he hates so that I can go to school full time. But really, this kid has everything he needs. We'll be done with this financial struggle so soon! It will be so nice. Lol

A mother who doesn't expect my child to raise their parents. Love and I love you just because not obligatory. I don't remember my mom EVER cuddling me. She'd just tell me to go back to bed.even if I had nightmares.

Our kids have it better than us on every single aspect of their lives. They've got no clue, honestly. I can't imagine how much more enjoyable our childhoods would have been if we didn't have to worry about all the excess smurf our parents brought to our lives. Our kids are living the good life.

A dad who is in Peyton's life instead of constantly working and only focusing on what he can give Peyton monetarily instead of what he can give emotionally. My dad was never around he was always working to give us stuff but never really said he loved me or anything only if I was really sick. My mom on the other hand, she was strong and taught me to never let a man walk all over me. Sure she went through some abuse with her exhusband but she got out of it and she taught me to never put myself in that type of situation and if a man ever lays a hand on you, you leave no questions asked. My parents weren't very affectionate (saying I love you, cuddling, hugging, kissing) but DH and I are very affectionate with Peyton, I think just today I've kissed him hundreds of times and told him I love him at least 3 or 4 times.

I was a spoiled BRAT growing up. I want my son to be thankful for the things we get him or give him. I want him to cherish his time with us and not expect everything. I think we've done a good job teaching him the difference so far He's almost 3yrs and EVERYTHING gets a "dank you guys" (thank you guys).
