Mom confusion..

posted 21st Dec
My 10 month old is calling her "Ya ya" my mom "Mama" Now.. there has been a few times where mom as slipped and refered to herself as mama and not ya ya.. but im not sure that it was enough to influance her to call my mom , mom. Im hoping its just cuz Ya-ya, and mama may sound simmalar to her and im trying to just blow it off and correct her on it as much as possible. She is only a baby.. but it doesnt make it hurt any less when she looks at my mom and calls her mom and not me..when she cries and says "ma ma ma ma" is she really asking for me.. or is she crying for her ya ya insted? Am i making to much of this? is there anyway to correct this other then what im doing, I am her primary care giver, she has a night time rutine with my mom..and she stays in my moms care only on the weekends while i work my longer shifts.. It still hurts my heart..

Mine has been saying Ma ma and dada since five months, she started taking a cup, at four months and now is on a straw cup..(simmilar to a tumbler) She walks and self feeds (Shes getting to the point of refusing the mush, if she cant do it herself she doesnt want it..) shes very independant and smart..thats why it worries me.

But.... What exactly are you worried about? In a year or two it won't matter at all...she'll understand who you all are.

I think you're looking way to far into this. She is a 10 month old.

My 11 month old is in daycare 9 to 12 hours a day, and knows I am his mom. Your mom slipping and calling herself mama a few times isn't going to confuse your baby.

Don't worry so much, mamma

She wont be confused at all. Once she can actually talk and not mimic she will know who everyone is and what to call them
