What is going on??

posted 21st Dec
First off, I realize this is yet another "could I be pregnant?" post from me - all as I can think about is TTC! So I apopologize! I'm hoping one of you have either went through something like this or know someone who has and could give me some advice, every time I call the nurse line at my OB's office they treat me like I'm an idiot.

I got a faint positive (but for sure there) on a clear blue test, tested a couple hours later, got an even fainter positive (just assumed it was from not waiting long enough and being early). While testing, I noticed I was spotting a little, but more like browm CM style - I just assumed the blue dyes were false positives but to be sure I took a FRER the next morning and sure enough there was a faint positive, the type that you really have to look at it, but it did have color so it wasn't an evaporation line. I was due yesterday for AF so I took one last night again when she never came, got a for sure positive, still lighter, but obviously there. Took one this morning to confirm (and mostly because I bought like 3- 3 pack boxes!) and it came out even lighter, like it did the morning before. And then to top it off I had that brown spotting this morning just once and again this afternoon just once, but no red and no AF.

Do you guys think I should take the tests as positives or not? It's too late for a blood test until Wednesday now and my husband has banned me from testing, he thinks me stressing about it is making it worse, but I just can't help it! On one side I am a day late, which NEVER happens, only early and I did get a positive... but then again I got a lighter one after and in the morning which is supposed to show more and I keep spotting.

I've heard of people having darker tests in the afternoon than in the am, and it took my tests a LONG time to darken with this pregnancy.

Well if you got a positive then its postivie. It might just take a while to darken. I took my mid day and while I was still peeing it turned positive.
If your DH lets you take it later in the day. Like at night after you held you pee for as long as possible. Dont drink too much water. It dilutes it i think. GL!

I had spotting like that until I was 9 weeks.. Everything was fine. I agree with your husband. If you are, you are. Stressing about it won't help anything. Relax

Have you guys ever heard of them going back and forth like that? I thought it was sooo weird that last nights was visibly positive and this mornings was barely anything. I assumed once you get a positive line it should be at least that dark or more.

Also, is spotting this early normal? The earliest I've ever spotted was 8 weeks.

I only took one test, so I don't know.

Thank you! I know he is right, I just won't tell him

Did you spotting ever turn into more or was it off and on little bits?

It was almost constant. Then at 9 weeks it stopped. It was brown and never red. I had a MC before that pregnancy, so I was on edge the whole time.

I had spotting with this pregnancy. It was brownish-red, then turned light brown. Get off your feet and rest. I did, and when the spotting stopped, it never came back. I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy, so I was freaking out, but am 11w6d, have had 2 ultrasounds and saw a heartbeat both times.

Thanks ladies! One more question, I've heard of some people not being able to get positives until like a week over due sometimes even more, but is that normal or not? I thought I would have got lots of clear positives by now. I feel like everyone on here talks about testing at like 8/10 dpo and getting positives.
