Your perfect Christmas dinner?

posted 21st Dec
I was speaking to my oh and suggested we do an American Christmas dinner on boxing day as I've always loved the look of many I have seen. Will only be 3 of us so not huge, but still enough dish's we could cook and maybe save some if extra?

What are you having ?

We always have a spiral honey ham and a smoked turkey, but I prefer just the ham

For sides- green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole with pecan topping are a MUST.

I always make lasagna, garlic bread, and salad. I have always thought it was to soon after Thanksgiving to make all the same foods again.

I am making ham, baked beans (at the request of my grandpa), mashed potatoes, rolls and not sure what else. I am making tamales after Christmas for DH to take to work when he goes back. I make posole but when it is just DH and I, it always ends up getting thrown out because we don't eat it all. Not sure what we are having at his mom's, probably posole though since that is what she makes for any family event.

We are having
Prime Rib, Sour Cream & Chive Mashed Potatoes, Lemon Pepper Seasoned Green Beans and rolls. I'm also making a salad with dried cherries, walnuts and crumbled blue cheese raspberry vinegrette dressing.

Something different than ham and taters that we usually do every year.

Not sure what all they have or don't have in the UK lol

I make mine with canned green beans, sour cream, cream of celery, and french fried onions.

I'm making sweet potato casserole today actually, just bc DH loves it so much. This is the recipe I use, and I double the amount of topping. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/yummy-sweet-potato-casserole/

We're gonna have roasted chicken with veggies , rice, cranberry , and possibly stuffing or green bean casserole . Kinda like thanksgiving only condensed and rice instead of mashed potatoes and a chicken instead of turkey. Might have sweet potatoes as well but not sure.
