Free carseat cover :)

posted 21st Dec
Would any of you ladies like a free car seat cover? You just have to pay for shipping, which is 12.90. go to Carseatcanopy.com, pick which carseat cover you like, and enter promo code: pink1 (:

The canopy style is safe, the whole caboodle is not. Please choose safely for your baby.

you aren't supposed to use any type of covers on a car seat.

What does it look like? You can only use the shower cap covers on a seat. Or the ones that attach to the handle...

Some of the ones on that site are incredibly dangerous and can cause a lot of harm to your child.

that's nice, but those things just look like blankets. I have plenty of those to throw over DD's car seat, or is there something I'm missing that these covers do more than a blanket?

I can't tell for sure but it looks like there two kinds. There's a canopy cover hitch looks like a blanket over the top. That's $50. Then there's an unsafe one called whole caboodle that goes over the seat and top. Those are $80.

That's a good deal for the canopy style ones but I can't tell from te pic if it's only over the top.

Yeah no. That's extremely dangerous. The only things that can be used are these:

(assuming it doesn't wrap so far around as to interfere with the base)

Her photo shows the cover on the seat too which will interfere with the straps. Basically if it's not touching the straps or the base/seatbelt its good. (Unless of course you get into the whole fire retardant thing, but once you wash a cover there is no retardant left on it anyway).... As a general consensus from CPST's, the canopy covers and the shower cap covers are fine. Actual seat covers are not.

Yeah the photo Jillian posted was the whole caboodle style. They don't show te canopy style on the inside so I can't tell if it's wrapped around te edge of under the baby. I'm assuming around since it doesn't show the inside and it's cheaper than te one that does go inside.

there's a video and it shows the cheaper one, it's just a blanket that attaches to the handle, it doesn't interfere with baby.

It amazes me that people make and sell custom carseat covers on fb. Usually they don't know it isn't safe and when I explain it they just delete the conversation. I guess money is more important than kids smh.

Yeah I think the canopy style one is like the top one u posted and the whole caboodle style is like the bottom one.

OP update your post so that people know the canopy style is safe and the whole caboodle is not. That way if they don't read replies they dont buy unsafe gear. But thanks for the link. A $50 canopy for $12.50!! Nice.
