How was it after a C-Section??!

posted 21st Dec
How did you ladies feel after the c-section? Was it harder to take care of your new born? How bad was the pain after the c-section? & how long did it last?

the first day it sucked since i couldnt get out of bed, and i felt helpless. first time getting up and walking i thought my insides were going to fall out of my incision.it was very weird feeling, uncomfortable but not too painful. at home i just had to take things slow and easy and just be cautious with everything i did.

thanks for sharing. I really want to enjoy my baby girl once she's here. I had surgery about 2 weeks ago and got my appendix removed so, they told me that I pretty much already know how a c-section should feel.

i guess it wasnt bad compared to what i was thinking it would be like. it wasnt the ideal situation, and i didnt have free range to do as much as i would have been able to do if i didnt have a csection, but it wasnt horrible and nothing was impossible. you just need to be more careful with what you do and how you do it

My second C-section hurt worse than my first. I heal quickly and to me my c-section didn't hurt worse than any other cut I've gotten. My second felt more like what KBear shared. But pain meds didn't do anything for me because I didn't really need them. I came home and was fine getting up and down the stairs. They say not to do a lot of heavy lifting in the first six weeks to give yourself a chance to heal. You can obviously move to take care of your baby, but it's definitely a good idea to have the bassinet IN your room with you so that you're not trying to sprint to her after having a C-section. Just take it slow and easy. Accept all the help you can get for as long as you can get it. You'll start feeling better in about a week or two, I would guess.

With my first.. I had to be put under because my platelets were low. He was breech, and stuck. I was miserable and in a LOT of pain for the first week..it got better after that.

My second was a breeze.. I had surgery at 7pm..was up walking(without a catheter) by 6am. They let me check out the day after. I didnt have any issues..other than a spinal headache.

thankss girl! I know that it's way worse when you just stay in bed all day. I was already walking around the hospital 2 days after my surgery. would of done it sooner but they wouldn't let me just yet. I'm trying to stay positive about all of this... I know I can do it, the pain part has me a little nervous since I have a couple of friends saying it hurt real bad but every woman is different and I'm actually a pretty strong one ;)

We scheduled a date for 39 weeks but my water broke at 37 lol it was a surprise! Besides my labor, it was easy peasy. I wasnt as sore the second time because I was numb lol
