Gender neutral restrooms...

posted 3rd Jun
There was a new law passed here in Colorado.

Gender neutral restrooms.

Basically it allows anyone to use any restroom at any time. This includes schools, parks, stores...EVERYWHERE.

Tell me what you think of this...

Personally I am enraged. I do NOT want my child using the restroom with men in there.

That's ridiculous. I don't want to use a restroom with men in there, and I especially wouldn't want girls in the restroom with Gav. Or men in there with girls!

I don't see a huge deal about it, personally. I don't let my children go into bathrooms alone, anyway. My son always had his father or me with him. Besides, we use the family rooms most of the time.

I've been in bathrooms like this. It's not really that big a deal. I always go in with someone else if I notice a guy is in there and especially if there is a child that needs the restroom. I make sure I bring the child.

do you think they're gonna tear all the signs off the doors or something? i think most people will continue on as they have, using a restroom with the appropriate stick figure.

I think it's retarded that the person who fronted the bill wasn't available for comment.

There's a difference between using a family restroom and using a stall next to a man.

I'm more concerned about the fact that there ARE some very...bad...people out there. It's much easier for them to take advantage of a situation like this.

And schools...would you really want your 5 year old girl/boy sharing a restroom with a child of the opposite gender unsupervised? Even in midle/high school. Think about the things that could happen.

Eww.. men usually leave restrooms all dirty and gross.
They can use them at the same time or you mean the ones with only one stall?

Gender neutral means just that. There's a restroom with no sign to show as to who should use it.

One of my good friends went to school at Berkeley, and the dorms she was living in freshman year were guy/girl mixed. The bathrooms were also gender neutral.

She said she hated it.

Actually, let's get a little technical here. For a year I worked at Rite Aid. I had to clean both the men's and women's restrooms once a week (others did it during the rest of the week) and the women's restroom was always A LOT worse than the men's.

I mean large restrooms with several stalls. Urnials will be removed from what are now the men's rooms and everyone will be able to use the same restroom. IE...You peeing in one stall, a man peeing in the stall next to you.

There's a huuuuuuge difference between a family restroom and a gender neutral restroom, though.

I don't like that idea. It's not about being dirty or clean. It's about sick people in the world
