With my DS my water broke and I was not going into labor so they had to induce me. They started the pitocin and 2 hours later I was ready to push. It was my easiest labor but most painful. I did have an epideural but I started pushing only about 10 minutes after I got it so I felt everything but the ring of fire.

Hey hun. I know how you must be feeling. My doctor keeps telling me I will be induced as well, because I have low amnitoc fluids. I keep hearing all the crappy induction stories from other mums and it is starting to piss me off. If there is a medical reason I say do it, but if there isn't tell them you don't want it done without a reason. I've read it is a good idea, to keep the epidural option available, if you get induced. Just remember though, loads of women have been induced and still there is nothing wrong with their babies. ALso you are in Australia, it is mostly in America I think where inductions turn into C-sections. Every 1 in 3 births is a C section there. You should be in good hands in Aus

Oh and also, I have looked this up as well. I've read plenty of mums say that their inductions went well. I read some women say that they actually prefered it even!. That their pains gradually got more intense, and wasn't just a huge bang of pain straight away. You probably hear more about the horror stories because the ones that have a positive story about it, don't tell it.

Obviously though it is different for everyone, and there is no way of telling how it will be. My cousin has been induced twice, and she is the biggest wuss when it comes to pain but she was just fine, and didn't make a huge fuss about it. Good luck

amniotic fluid fluctuates, you could have low fluid one day and then drink a lot of liquids and have tons the next day. Thats not a real reason to induce

Yup, just by walking into a hospital gives you a 1 in 3 chance. Getting induced gives you 1 in 2 chance

Sounds like you had a nice fast labour. And your extremely lucky you didn't feel the ring of fire, coz that hurts like a mofo lol

As I said in my OP they are thinking of induction due to the baby's size and now all the stuff they found I my urine. I even had the worst dream last night about being induced. I just have to keep reassuring myself that they know what they're doing and they won't don't unless it's necessary.

The +2 may have been keytones. That would more than likely be dehydration related if so.
Best of luck.

Indeed it will help some people to drink more. I drink 3 - 4 liters every day and my fluids still are bellow average. This is a problem with the placenta and it will stop working at some point. If the doctors tell me that my baby is worse off being kept in than coming out then ill listen to my doctor. ;-)
