You wipe it like a finger. You never never pull it back to clean it. Once he is older he will self retract it and then it should be cleaned inside.

He's never had pain. I never encouraged him to retract it it in the shower, until I had seen him do it himself several times. I don't understand why all of a sudden it's an issue.

I wasn't talking about pulling it back, I was talking about touching it at all in general. Even in circumsized boys there's a ridge that needs cleaned especially when they poop. So you'd have to touch the penis to clean it... the other mama said she had never touched her son's penis. Like you have to use the wipe and move it to the side to clean under it and what not.. She acts like OP is doing something wrong by touching her son's penis to CLEAN it which IMO is totally ignorant.

But he's not 5 months, he is 5 years old. It's been retractable for. Year and a half or so, with no issue. So I'm confused and don't know if it's something to be real concerned about or normal?

Totally do you clean your daughters vagina? Uh.. Yeah, why would a penis suddenly not need to be cleaned? I don't know about the mechanics on what or how to clean it, but she's acting like it's sexual abuse to keep your kid clean.
