using one of those chocolate melting pots. It has a bottom part and top part, water in the bottom, chocolate on the top. I've tried to do the microwave, but apparently my bowls get too hot and the chocolate burns.

In the microwave at 30 second intervals/stir & repeat...or stovetop on low

In a glass bowl over a low heat. Dont let the bowl touch the water in the pan though. I find it easier this way otherwise i burn it

I melt them on the stove. I don't have a double boiler so I put a large pot on the burner with a few cups of water in it. Turn it on med/low heat and sit another pan on top of it. Add a tiny bit of oil to the chocolate and it won't clump up and turn out really smooth. Just keep stirring the chocolate til it's all melted and smooth.

double boiler!!
You can make one by putting water in a large pot and then placing a smaller pot in that water. Put the chocolate in the smaller pan. It will melt as the water heats up and it wont burn or stick to the pan.
