Gestational Diabetes...
posted 20th Dec
This is my first pregnancy and I found out at 16 weeks that I have gestational diabetes. I'm on a monitor and diet and have gained 10 pounds I'm now going on 22 weeks. I feel better and am doing so good to control my sugar keeping under 120.
I'm looking to offer support and encouragement to other moms to be. I walk a few times a week and do resistance training.

that's good. I'm really glad to hear that since I have been a bit concerned. how long did you have it after the birth? any issues since.

No it usually goes away right after birth. When I was in labor this last time I had to eat jello atleast every 2 hrs because my sugar was dropping often. After birth I was fine. My sugars were all fine right after.

They may check your sugar levels for like 24 hrs after birth to make sure its gone. If yours is controlled well with diet they may not check though. With my first mine was diet controlled and they never checked my sugar after. With my second I was considered high risk pregnancy and and had to use medication to control it.
