Sauerkraut

Anyone have any good recipes for sauerkraut?

Now that I'm single I can eat smurf I want, and sauerkraut is one thing I ADORE. Lol. I have no good recipes though.

I love sauerkraut, do you mean like how to make it, or what to make with it?

I always get the bagged sauerkraut in the meat section, I don't get sauerkraut here because its made with wine, and just tastes all wrong.

Like for dinner tonight, for me, my kids won't eat that haha. I put the sauerkraut in a pot with some water and onions, let it simmer and sweat for like... Idk 15 minutes? Maybe 20 then threw some cooked ham in it.. And it was justtt meehhh.

The big thing I use to eat growing up was sauerkraut and pork chops. Lol

well I either make it with smoked sausage or pork ribs, if you do it with the ribs, lots of salt and pepper on them, cook them first in the pot with a little bit of oil, then put the sauerkraut in, but this would be like an all day thing, so the sauerkraut and the pork get the flavors from one another.

Yeah. I was in a pinch and to be honest, pretty lazy today with dinner lol.

The kids got ham, gold fish and mandarin oranges.  

lol.. we love sauerkraut (not kiddo ) i just get hot links cover them up and pop in in the over until the link start to pop and the kraut starts to lightly brown on the edges.. tonight is cornbeef and cabbage night

I love those hot links, never even thought of having those with sauerkraut, have to try that next time
