jump start labor... :)

posted 20th Dec
What are yalls opinion on castor oil to help jump start labor? I've heard a lot of different things on it.. Mostly I'm nervous about getting the upset stomach and vomiting.. So I want to know of anyone had tried it and if they would recommend it...

Thanks in advance!!!

yes risking yourself and your baby having the smurfs sounds so worth jump starting labor

If you do it, I strongly suggest in investing in a pack of incontinence pads or depends because you will smurf your brains out and possibly experience some rectal leakage on your way to the bathroom.

I will say NO you will not DEFINITELY "smurf your brains out" if you do take it... Not everyone experiences that. But either way, I don't believe that it is a good idea.

I think it is amazing how few people know how to do a search on this site for this topic.

Don't do it. Walk more or lay in watter things like that can help jump start it.

If you are worried about an upset belly and the smurfs then don't do it! that's exactly what will happen.

You do realize you're going to go into labor at some point on your own correct?

I wouldn't do it, even if overdue. It can cause you to dehydrate quickly, thus causing unneeded stress on baby. Perhaps even turning into emergency C-section. C-section is a big fear of mine. Then again I went overdue for a week with both our kids, and was fine waiting for them to come on their own.

Considering its medical use is as a laxative, I'd lean more towards it being definite than not.
