Don't breathe on them they may classify that abuse as well.

We as parents can't do anything without it being classified as some sort of abuse. But the way I look at it nip it in the butt before it goes any further. I can't sit back and watch my child destroy his/her life because I'm scared of being of being told I'm abusing my child.

Dang, now we're talking about murder?

I would assume kids who kill their parents are mentally ill or suffered horrible abuse at the hands of their parents.
Now I must look at statistics.

Some humiliation is good for children. Allows them to grow and mature knowing that there are repercussions for every action and they should learn respect, know when to give it and also how to be humble when the situation calls for it. How else will they learn to cope with it once they get it to the "real" world.

The punishment fit the crime in my opinion.

And a letter to the teacher and a speech to his class would've done what? I can write a letter and not mean a damn word of it and speak to a class and again not mean a word.
And to go as far as murder? Really? I highly doubt embarrassing a kid would result in him killing his mother.

I just became overwhelmingly curious about the factors that were abundant in cases where kids kill parents. These are the ones listed if anyone cares:

1. The youth is raised in a chemically dependent or other dysfunctional family2. An ongoing pattern of family violence exists in the home
3. Conditions in the home worsen, and violence escalates.
4. The youth becomes increasingly vulnerable to stressors in the home environment.
5. A firearm is readily available in the home environment.

Told you there's one that cries abuse. I didn't think it would be this soon into the thread though lol.

Hes old enough to know better and I think by his mother doing this she nipped his bad attitude in the butt and fast. Cant imagine he will try that crap again, I sure as hell would not.
I don't think I would have thought of this and if i would have done it, it would have just been in his class where the incident occurred but I actually think the mother did the rite thing for her son.
Kids now get away with way to much, maybe more parents should do this type of thing.

Did you see the video of the dad who saw his daughter was bad mouthing him on FB? Calling him all kinds of awful stuff. He made his own video confronting her and then took her laptop and shot it full of bullets. Then he listed the rest of her punishments. It was epic.

I think it's crazy when parents are freaked out by parents kissing their newbs/infants/toddlers/kids on the lips. I couldn't imagine snuggling with DD and not giving her a few pecks.

I just don't think it would have an effect on kids. Probably wouldn't teach them anything either.
