Ran across this on a baby name site. Has a nice ring, but I think Grays anatomy..

Think of Grey's Anatomy. It feels more of a boy name to me

it's one of those boys names turned girls names to me. It's not very feminine, but no one uses it for boys any more.

Sloane has the potential to be very handsome - on a boy.

Sloane on a girl is fugly, to be quite honest. It has zero femininity.

I agree. I'd use if I was certain there weren't girls out there with it. We already know how angry other boys names on girls makes me. Good thing I'm pretty sure we've found a girl proof (or at least mostly girl proof) name for Coraline now that she's gone and grown a penis.

Thanks I was so sure he was a girl! It had to sink in and it really hasn't fully, but I'm really happy.

I will probably have gender disappointment if this is a boy, I won't lie - but you DO get over it, I got over it with my son, sometimes it takes a while. NO shame in preferring one gender to another. At least your SO seems to have respectable taste overall, though - better than MINE, thats for sure. He wanted Rhapsody for a girl. Over my dead body - I decided on Cordelia. He doesn't hate it, so I don't feel bad, lol.

LMAO. No. he def. would not want that. He won't even let me use River because it's "too weird" SO. as much as I want to go a little more different than we have in the past, he'll never let me.

Really? I actually think River, Elliot and Piper sound really great together. Classic but not overly so, a little quirky and off beat, but not TOO out there.
