BreastFeeding
posted 19th Dec
I am currently 17 and 20 weeks pregnant with a little girl. I have been going back and forth on weather I should breast feed or not. Have any other young mothers made the choice to breastfeed?

I was 19 when I had my daughter, which I guess is young. I breastfed, and still am breastfeeding her 2.5 years later. It's the best choice.

Yep. My daughter has a lot of food allergies, so we stopped. But I miss it a lot.
It's worth a shot. It's an amazing bonding experience and soooooo good for hem!

Breast is best for your babies nutrition and health. I was 16 when I got pregnant and had my son at 17, I breastfed for 22 months and I'll be nursing this bun in the oven also. Pm me if you have any questions :-)

There's also a woman on here who had her son at 14 and breastfed for over 3 years!

I was 18 when I was pregnant with my daughter and I swore to myself I would breastfeeding because I knew it is way better than formula. Now she is 2 1/2 and still nurses I'm so glad I did it and stuck with it even through all the problems.

At least try breast feeding and if you don't like it or find it isn't for you you can always go to formula but it is really your choice

I breastfed her for 3 weeks at 16. I would have continued for longer if I'd had the knowledge and support I have now.
It's nutritionally balanced to exactly meet baby's needs; releases chemicals in both of your brains that aid in bonding, calming baby, fighting PPD and returning your uterus to normal size faster, and reduces your risk of getting diabetes, ovarian cancer, or breast cancer; it provides immunities to the baby; a breastfed baby is less likely to develop colic or an upset tummy from overeating; it reduces the risk of SIDS, asthma, diabetes, and obesity in the baby; it also burns a LOT of calories and most breastfeeding women return to pre-pregnancy weight sooner.

Im 18 and plan on breast feeding when my baby comes I know for some people its not for them and some people can't but to me it just doesn't make sense to formula feed when we are able to produce everything our baby needs for nutrition for free and it just seems way healthier. Plus it has benefits for you as well. Women who have breast fed have less of a chance of getting breast cancer which is important with how common it is.

I was 19 when I had my son, and I breastfed for about 3 months. If I would have known everything I know now, and if I would have had the support that I do now, I would have breastfed much longer. I'm going to breastfeed again with this baby
