re: Babies and piercings.

Got my daughter's done at 3 months old at Daniels. They used the gun and she cried for 30 seconds, took her bottle and she was fine. She's 3 now, has never had any infections and she loves switching out her cute little earings. Its very simple to take care of actually. Every day i would put some antibacterial liquid they gave me for her and thats it. I'd rather get it done early and she forget about the pain right away then take her when she's older and she's whining and complaining about her ears hurting. I also dont cry when my kids get shots either so i wasn't too scared to get them done

I am against intentionally inflicting pain on a child for cosmetic reasons.
I would wait until she is old enough to ask for them herself. My niece got hers done when she was 3 after she asked for it. I used to work at Claire's and it was terrible watching the babies scream and cry when they got their ears pierced. I refused to do it on babies.

I would wait until she is old enough to ask and responsible enough to look after them. I only know 2 girls who got their ears pierced as babies and they both have one ear lobe were the piercing is like way out in the middle of the lobe and it looks weird, that's why I wouldn't do it.

Plus, I am now allergic to nickel..so my ears swell and blister with most earrings. :/

I got DD's ears pierced when she was 8 months old. She didn't even cry.
I couldn't let someone else take her to get them done, though. That just sounds wrong.

My oldest has had hers for 10 yrs in. I took her has a baby. My middle my mom brought her to get them done when she was watching her LOL while I was at work. I was thrilled she brought her, cause its 80.00 to get it done. LOL

Lo is 10 months I am bringing her for her first birthday in February to get them done before her party. I have no issues with getting them done. If I had a son I would get his done as well.

All my children have their ears pierced, even my 10 year old son. I got his done when he was around 6 months. My 7 year old got hers pierced at 3 months and my 5 year old got hers pierced between 4 and 5 months. My son likes to wear earrings when he gets dressed up, for like pictures or holidays. My oldest daughter would wear earrings every second of every day if i let her, but she has to take them out for sports. And my 5 year old wears them once in a blue moon because her hair gets tangled around them. She only agrees to wear them if I put her hair up in a fancy bun or something.

I had mine done at 6 weeks by my pedi, right there in her office. I'm glad I got the kids done when I did.. because they're all into so many sports that if I had waited the holes would have closed time and time again because they would always be taking out their earrings. I'd hate to have to repierce them a million times.
