Yes. We are having a big party. I'm making Heaven and Hell cake and other decadent yummies. We also will have several medical professionals on hand.

Yes, that is why we are having a big party. We are using good wine and decadent food.

Nah. We have earthquake kits and food/water--but I'm not into the Doomsday Preppers thing. I don't have time for all that.

Yeah, we're somewhat prepared for an emergency like that. We have about 6 months worth of food (not tasty food, mind you, but food that will sustain us), and about 3 weeks of water. I've been wanting to get iodine tablets for the lake water but haven't been able to yet. We also have the means to defend ourselves if need be.

That being said, on Friday I'm going to the bar and drinking heavily. Like I do almost every Friday night.

No ... the Mayan calender was round when time stopped it simply started again. Also in most ancient culture this solstace and plantery alignment was supposed to signal an age of enlightment, so I'm looking forward to that.
