Diapers

posted 19th Dec
This is my first child and I am trying to stock up on diapers. Since I am not sure how big she will be when she is born I only have one pack of Newborns (36 diapers). My doctor is suppose to tell me how big she is next week when I get my 3D ultrasound. As of now I have 350 size 1 diapers. No other sizes at the moment.

So what do you suggest?

Also is there a good brand to go with? I have bought mostly Huggies but that is because I have been finding them on sale. The have been the cheapest so far. I have some Luvs too.

just keep the one pack of newborn and go with buying 1's and 2's. babies arent in newborn long to get a whole lot of them. My son was in newborn maybe a week. Even if yours is in nb longer you can just tighten the ones a bit.

That is what the hospital uses. They always send you home with a pack of pampers.

I love parents choice. (Walmart brand) I had pride issues at first but got over it. We haven't had any issues with them leaking or what not

We went through only one pack of newborns, I think. We used 1's and 2's the longest and 3's briefly and now he's in 4's and has been for quite a while. Personally I love Huggies and wouldn't buy any other brand for anything. My mom keeps Luvs at her house and I don't care for them. Pampers would be my next choice.

For newborn get a few pampers swaddlers, then when your baby outgrow the swaddlers then go with pampers baby dry or the exrtra protection ones. Pampers are the best! Get huggies wipes though. Congrats.

Thats what I did. One pack of nb's then went to ones- just do them up a bit tighter.

I love the walmart brand as well, actually. Cheap, not as bulky as some others, and they don't leak- they even seem to hold in the explosions better than huggies!

I loved Huggies. I always found something I didn't like about the others lol.

My lo was small in the waist and wore preemie for a bit, and then moved up to newborn, and then so on. I would just start buying the # sizes and stick with one newborn for now.

Is it weird that I don't really have a preference:S.. haha. I like parents choice, huggies and pampers.
new born, size 1 and 2 she will quickly grow out of.
Size 3 and 4 she will likely be in for the longest so I wouldn't stock up too much on the smaller size.

Depends on the baby. DD was in size one for 6 months, and is still in size 2 after 4 months.

With Dd2 We used many brands trying to find one that didn't give her a rash :-( My advice is purchase a couple of cloth diapers in case your baby has super sensitive skin. I suggest Green mountain diapers prefolds, they are wonderful burp clothes if you end up not needing them. With Dd1 I loved Huggies and she now wears parents choice.

we used luvs for awhile but he started peeing through them...lol....parents choice are great though...they are just like huggies and pampers in my opinion...also i would only buy size one and two diapers right now since they will send you home with nb and you wont need them for very long...
