Milk supply almost completly gone..

posted 19th Dec
Hey mamas so I am exclusively breast pumping and I was having trouble with my left boob not making as much milk as my right. I have been taking fenugreek and drinking mothers milk tea or w.e. its called. Now, I literally have no bottles in the fridge and I have to pump when my sons due in order for him to eat when I used to be able to feed him and pump afterward for extra milk. I used to have like 6 bottles in the fridge at a time and still pmped every two hours and now I have none. I am so devastated and I have no idea what to do. Any advice>? TIA

Have you called a lactation consultant? I dont know how much they will be able to help but it is worth a shot. I had the same thing happen to me, and ended up having a breast infection.

How long do you pump for? The Leche League might be able to help if you call someone in your area.

They advised me to pump for 20 minutes each time, every 2 hours. :/

Really? I havent called them but I think I will because I really want to continue to pump. I would love to breastfeed but my son just wouldnt take it. I am going to do the 20 minutes every two hours and see how it geos. I do go every two hours until it dries up but its so frustrating when nothing comes out.

They ssay even if you plan to mostly pump you should atleast put the baby to your breast once a day or once a week because pumping is different then the baby latching and doesn't keep your milk up.

Also, I don't know if you know this but you produce the most milk in the morning, 3am,etc, so try to pump early and often.

One breast may work but if your making very little at the moment your Lo may have to switch off to get enough.

If your making less on your left I would try him on that one first it may help to bring up the supply on that side
