but my husband works in radio and he is a producer. He said they infact pulled Kesha but pumped up kicks isn't really being a huge issue because it's not on a lot of stations anymore. They are going through and finding more "sensitive" songs and removing them, against corporate. Corporate is pissed because it's making them lose money.

I disagree, like others have said people die everyday. It is a tragedy what happened to those kids, but songs are songs. Just like movies are movies... no one is pulling movies off shelves because they depict violence and dying. If we are going to censor one thing might as well censor everything.

you think that was disturbing try this one. it was made after/because of a school shooting in which the kid listened to his music.

I actually never knew Pumped Up Kicks was about, until I Googled the lyrics just before. Am I the only one? Mainly because that's not my kind of music.

The radio stations voluntarily pulled them off the air, obviously the felt playing them would lose fans and would be in bad taste.

Every person that dies does not get media coverage the way these people have, and while every death is a tragedy our whole nation isn't impacted the way it is now.

Many of you wont remember, but this happened after Columbine as well. They pulled the video for "Jeremy" from Pearl Jam off MTV (when they actually played videos  ) but then again... that video actually portrayed someone going into a classroom and shooting fellow students (albeit with a paintbull gun, but still).

This time, I dont agree with it. They aren't songs about shooting kids in a school. They mention guns or shooting.

Newsflash... so do most movies, tv's, magazines, etc. Are they going to ban every commercial, movie, etc with a gun showing? I understand they parents and families are still raw from this, but censoring things is not the answer.

I disagree. What happened was a terrible terrible unfortunate tragedy but they are also not the first children to have ever been killed. I can understand their reasoning but I don't think it was necessary.


I wonder if "If I die young" will be pulled too.
