breast pumping

Ive been pumping for my daughter who is in the NICU for about 2weeks now I was getting about 25 to 30ccs n now all im getting is 5. The same thing happened when I had my son. Is there anything I can do to produce more or am I just out of milk??

Are u using hosp pumps?? How often are u pumping?

Dean was in nicu for 6 weeks soooo i know how that goes  

my LO was in for 11 wks. I was pretty much dry by the time he came home. A pump isn't the same as a baby.the only thing I can offer is to pump frequently. Every 2-3 hrs during the day and no less than every 4 at night.

I have a hospital pump n I pump every 3hrs but even with my son who was,breastfeeding my milk stopped after about 2weeks I dont know what to do

I haven't tried it...but there are supplements. Fenugreek (i think), eating oatmeal, mother's milk tea, idk what else off the top of my head.

Can u use fenegreek?? That helped when my supply went down

At this point I think the best thing for you to do would be talk to a lactation consultant.

I had twin girls on nov 6th, I was 34 weeks. They spent a week in nicu and I was pumping an getting massive amounts. The nurses were actually amazed at how much I was able to get at a time. I was getting between 8 to 10 ounces and was able to freeze a lot of it with more then enough to feed the both of them. We brought them home and they were here for 2 weeks and both became sick. Hey developed respiratory infections and both placed on ventilators. They were back in the nicu for 10 days. During this time my milk supply dropped drastically. I was pumping every 2 to 3 hours in hopes of getting it back up but was getting next to nothing, compared to what I've been getting before. Of get a total of 2 to 3 ounces at a time. The girls were on feeding tubes and still taking my milk but in very small amounts, so I still had some frozen, on backup. They have been back home for 10 days now, and doing great. Thank god. But I've been using all of my frozen supply trying to keep up. Still getting next I nothing and they are each taking 5 ounces now. I went to see my dr today and he prescribed me domperidone. I'm going to
start taking them tomorrow. I'm really hoping this helps. I want them to get breastmilk for as long as possible. Good luck!!! I really hope your supply picks back up!

Just wanted to wish you luck and let you know that domperidone worked to increase my supply to keep up with my twins too! I was able to pump for them for 5.5 months until I decided to stop.

I can't recall exactly but I think it was pretty quick... maybe a couple of days. I took the max dose of two pills four times per day.
