Gallbladder :(

Anyone had theirs out?.. How was your recovery etc??

I've been having random gallbladder attacks over the past 2 weeks.. (i had no clue what was going on.. it was just sudden BAD pain in my upper right side and was comparable to the intensity of labour pain)

I went to ED last night after having my 4th & 5th attack (both lasting about 10-15mins) and found out i'll need surgery to remove it if its what the DRs suspect.

Im going for my ultrasound shortly & am a tad nervous.

In a way i hope it is my gallbladder.. i've been given names of surgeons etc and want it out ASAP..

I'd honestly rather be in labour.

At least you get gas/air or an epidural to help you cope.. with this there is nothing that helps & its so sudden/unexpected and lasts such a long time.

The DR said the attacks can last up to an hour   ... mine are getting more intense so im hoping they stay short!

I had it out 2010 and no pain no nothing. I had to wait 6 weeks to go back to work but that's bc I had a physical job

I had mine out on this day in 2010 I had no pain and was up and doing the normal routine 3days after  .

Oh thats so good to hear!!

I was worried about having 2 kids under 2 - bending down picking toys up, lifting washing, bathing them etc.

How long do you think i should get hubby to take off work if i need it out?

Would 3 days be plenty?

3 is plenty you will be feeling fine by then and it gives you extra time to recover   sleep as much as you can after  

My dad just got his out. He walked himself to the car lol They used the laser to remove it. The next day he was working on my car to get it ready for inspection. He said it's not painful at all. I did have a friend who got it out and for a month she said it was the worst pain ever. I guess it depends on your pain tolerance. I might have to get mine out too  

I had mine out just 2 months ago(9 October) and I healed ok. It was hell when i first woke up. Went in about 9am and was drowsy and just waking every hour to pee from when I got out of recovery(about midday) until about 8pm after that I was fine really. It hurt a bit to move but it was easier then my c-section and I got off really easy with that haha

I had key hole surgery to remove mine.
