Husbands crying

posted 18th Dec
My husband never cries, never ever. He's cried maybe twice in the 6 years I've known him. Is this weird? Do you think there's something emotionally wrong here? I just cried my eyes out for the entire weekend about the shooting and he is broken up about it too (as we have a daughter in kindergarten) but can't shed a tear to save his life. Do your husbands cry? Do you think not crying is a bad sign?

I've seen my husband cry once out of the 3 years we've been together. And it was over him thinking he wouldn't ever get to hunt again after the baby was born

Other than that, he doesn't cry.

I don't think it's weird, some people just don't cry a lot.

He's cried twice. Once when our daughter was born and the other time when I told him to move on and make sure DD remembered me if I didn't make it through my surgeries.

He doesn't 'cry' but he has 'teared' up. Maybe he just doesn't want to seem weak?? I think its a man thing I don't see very many men cry. I think maybe two men in my life have cried cried..

Last time I saw my husband cry was right before I left to go stay with my sister because he was talking to random girls on Kik at 3 AM.

We both don't cry really.
We just show emotion differently than other people.
Something that makes most people cry, DH just gets super quiet, and I get angry more than sad.
As long as there is some outlet for the emotion, I don't think it's unhealthy that someone doesn't cry.

Nope. Nothing wrong with it.

He may show more in private, as men are raised to believe that showing emotion is effeminate or "gay".

Sayings like "man up", "boys don't cry", "pussy", "wimp" actually do a lot of harm in the long run to a young boy.

My husband never cries. I've seen him cry a handful of times in the last 4 years I've known him, which was when his best friend committed suicide, his uncle passed away and one of his friends got killed in a car accident. As far as this whole tragedy, he is shaken up about it but he hasn't cried over it. I don't think it's bad that they don't cry, I just look at it as, they're a lot stronger than us.

My husband was upset but didn't cry about the shooting I did , we have a daughter in preschool also..but he doesn't usually cry..he has cried at both of my deliveries with our girls the other time was because of an arguement we had that caused me to have a bad anxiety attack that was early in the relationship, and i have a past history with domestic abuse so he felt horrible that he had scared me. Heated yelling tends to scare me no matter what I do. Now our toddlers yelling thats different. lol.

My husband also doesn't cry. We've been married for 7 years, and I've seen him with tears in his eyes 3 times.
