throwing fits over playing?

Ok. My son loves watching TV, and today I cut him off and told him to get up and play for a while, let me watch TV for a while. My question is: Has anyone else had problems with their child throwing fits over not watching TV and you wanting them to play? My son is the only child I have EVER seen do this. It's a bit unnerving.

How old is he? Usually when kids would rather watch tv is because they're just used to it. I doubt he was the first one to turn on the tv for himself. Someone else did. Just turn the damn thing off.

He's four. and I'm not saying he turns it on by himself, I do turn it off. I'm asking if anyone else has seen a child throw a fit over being told to play?
