I'm scared

So I got a letter from my insurance company, basically stating that they will no longer cover any more inpatient stays for mental health issues b/c at one point I told them that I was "fine." Yeah, b/c someone who is fine in May 2012 will ALWAYS be fine.  

This is why I hate America. Their healthcare system sucks. If I have another suicide anxiety attack, I WILL end up committing suicide. Why? B/c I will have no insurance willing to cover me when I NEED the coverage and I have no access to appropriate care that I need.

Smurf America. This smurf wouldn't happen in Canada or any other nation.

That's BS. But do not commit suicide because of that.

But they can charge exorbitant amount of money for zero care. The two times I have been in the emergency room, I have only had a few minutes worth of "treatment." It was BS.

I feel like that if I do end up in a situation like that again, I won't be able to get the care. I can't afford all of that.

I just feel as though my safety net has been ripped out from under me.

it hasnt. go to a different ER next time , go to an Urgent Care...go somewhere until someone helps you. you can admit yourself into a mental hospital , they cant deny you. if you worry about the bills that will come later, you wont get the help you need

But that's the thing. I will have to worry about those bills. I don't want to be suicidal and in a mountain of debt. I know that of other people who are still paying for treatment years after the fact. I'd honestly would rather be dead than to be in financial ruins.

Are you looking into anywhere else? If so, where? I'm looking into switching. I can't be with an insurance company that would take me off "life support" like that.
