What kind of pads?

posted 18th Dec
What kind of pads did you use after baby? Like in the hospital and when you got home? I just went out and got a pack of Always Maxi Leakguard plus, long & super. I guess I should have asked before hand. Hopefully those will hold up. Im just trying to get my bag together.

I used the ones from the hospital. I took a ton home with me when I left too.

Massive ones. Like the ones that are an inch thick and you feel like you have a towel shoved in between your legs. I bled really heavily and they were the only things that kept it in.
I had bought some of the always maxi ones and they just didn't cut it, the nurse at the hospital gave me a pack of the thicker ones.

This. We stocked up big time. Every time they would bring more in my DH would put them away so they'd bring more in. When I eventually ran out at home, I got the super absorbent from Always. No wings. Eck.

Oh and definitely grab extra mesh/fishnet panties from the hospital...I think they are so comfy and you aren't ruining your own undies.

I got a bunch of those too. My kid is almost 2 and I think I still have a pair or 2 in my bathroom cabinet that I ended up not using.   But, they were definitely more comfy, especially since I had a c section and didn't want anything around my incision, I could pull those suckers wayyyy up!

I basically used the ones the hospital gave, since they were so big and held a lot. Then I used Always Infinity, so much drier!

The bigger the better. And my midwife suggested putting one on top of the other just in case. It felt like a nappy but I would often have blood on both pads so I'm glad I did it.
