I would most certainly do it for my loved ones.
It shouldnt be a substute for good personal care, but i think it's a great precaustion.

I should start a company lol. I told my parents that they will get one if they're barmy. I will never let them go into a home. They will live with me or my siblings.

That's a wonderful commitment to make to them.

There is always going to be people who will escape but I think it could be beneficial. I hate hearing about old people who wander off and are found frozen to death less than a mile from home.

Unfortunately, there have been cases where they've even wandered away from those.

And, sometimes the time they are at risk is only a small part of the day. The rest of the day they are good.

Oh, sure. They're generally good places. But idk if I'd want to put a relative in one though. If they could stay at home with a device like that, I think it could be great.
My aunt's bf's dad "escaped" from a home and they found him wandering on a busy road.   He got really bad though. He thought the lady taking care of him at home was a man and tried to beat her up. He thought "he" was after his wife.

I think they're a good idea. We had to put my grandma in a nursing home because we were afraid that she was going to get in her car and cause a serious accident. Recently we've moved her to a higher security home because she was running away from there too. Right before we moved her she had run away and we found her about 3 miles away walking down the road wearing a heavy sweater in July. The new place is for people who are a "flight risk" and they wear ankle bracelets with tracking devices in them.

We recently pulled his license because his driving was getting scary. The vehicle is there but the battery is unplugged and there are no keys.
