Irregular Periods ...
posted 18th Dec
.... Anyone ever gone to the Dr. for irregular periods before ? I always had normal periods before I went on the patch years ago. They became abnormal... every other month. Then, after I had my son they became even more abnormal coming every 4 or 5 months. We are TTC and it's making me nuts! So, I made an appointment for tomorrow and I am so nervous
Anyone ever gone to the Dr. for this ? What did they do ? What was the outcome ? (If you don't mind me asking)
Any insight into what I can expect would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!

I had irregular periods and they put me in birth control for about 5 months to make them regular, then I went off the birth control for 2 weeks and now i am pregnant with baby number 3. My periods would range anywhere from 3-7 months apart before

I know this is late and u already went but this is what I had to do. I was also ttc. That way you can talk to your dr about stuff while you're there next.
I started by taking progesterone (prometrium). This induced my periods to regulate them. This was may. I did that 4 times. The starter time (which since u jst started I wouldn't need) then 3 cycles. Then once that regulated them (well to about 40 days). Then I switched to an OB/Gyn instead of the NP. This was nov. He had me track my cycles like mad. I used te my cycles app. I also began dieting hardcore an calorie Counting with my fitness pal around feb. I lost some
Weight and as I lost more and more the closer my periods got together. Dr started me on clomid cause this was now 1.5 yrs ttc. So then I took clomid and kept dieting. Finally in may was my last period fianlly got it at a 30 day cycle. I ended up conceiving that cycle.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Well, this Dr. seems to think that by loosing weight and eating right and possibly getting me on thyroid meds that it will help. I know I can get pregnant on my own... I've done it 3 times... It's just a little more difficult considering I don't know when I am ovulating.
