Anatomy kicked my ass more then once...  ... Lol. I love biology, but I'm getting out of a smurffy, verbally abusive marriage, so I hope I can actually stick with it, ya know? Well I know I will. I have to for my kids.

Ahh, yeah must be a state (or school) requirement.

good for you girl! my mom did something along the same lines and has been a nurse for 20 years now. She is a LPN teacher as well.

you're the only person that kinda got what I meant! I know I worded it wrong, and I stated that!

anatomy smurfed me. hard. hardest thing I've had to do yet. my nursing classes are way easier (so far) than anatomy. I know a few people who have failed out, and it's a shame because they put you through the ringer with anatomy! well, at least my professor did! I just finished my A&P 2 today! thank smurfing god!

I am not sure where you get this from. If you have your ASN vs. your BSN, no one will look down on you. A nurse who has her ASN vs one who has her BSN takes the exact same NCLEX and receives the exact same nursing license. Your employee badge will simply have your name followed by RN.

My mom is rn, she made me do 6 months of cna work before she agreed to help me with my lvn, to her a nurse without that experience dosnt compare to some1 who's worked as cna and moved up... and it was eaiser for me to get into classes when I wanted to bridge an in the future

I've seen it, and I've heard about it. My MIL has her ASN and her co workers with BSNs have said things about ASNs not being "as qualified" or "as educated" as BSNs because of those 2 extra years. People will get a superiority complex over ANYTHING. ( well some people.)

omg i couldn't imagine that! i flat out told my professor, if I fail this class - my life is ruined! because i literally have no $$ to take it over and financial aid only covers so much. and I'd loose my scholarship. I asked him for all types of extra credit but he wouldn't give me any and kept saying "I'll do fine."

well - if I don't do fine after the final I took today, I'll want to kill him! lol

I've thought about going for my LPN and then bridging to RN, but theres ONE school who does LPN courses and it will not fit into my schedule, and it's like $4000. I could get my RN in 2 years and pay just about the same. KWIM?

Lol. A&P was hard for me just because I didn't and REFUSED to apply myself ( I took it when I was 18 and then 19). Then on top of that I had little to no support from my then boyfriend, now ex husband. I couldn't do it. AT ALL. Lol

Its just not true. I did an ASN and BSN program. You get treated no differently. You are no more qualified to CARE for patients because BSN classes are strictly on politics, informatics, and community care. BSN classes have made me no more qualified to take care of patients than ASN classes. The only difference is that some places higher a level 1 or level 2 nurse. An ASN is level 1 and BSN is level 2. One just deals more with admin then the other and policies... basically you are more qualified to push a pencil and manage. You are not more qualified or better qualified to be a nurse. And BSN courses can be fast tracked and completed in two full semesters and one summer semester. It only takes two years if you do it part time.
But hey, who am I to know?

I have been in med field for 7 years, when I was a cna I didn't care who was an lvn, if u were good to ur patients, families, and every once in a while helped change a diaper or turn some1 over, I had respect for them,
I worked in a rehab where I was charge nurse for alz/dem unit, if my cna was getting her ass kicked or a pt had c def and was exploding all over the place I put my lil pill crusher down and jumped in with them,
I've worked with other lvns who who push around a pt dripping with smurf searching for a cna to clean them

Like I said my husbands an rn, I don't have to respect him because he went to school 2 years longer than me, I respect him because he's a good nurse in every sense of it.

Oh, I'm not in anyway saying that is happens ALL the time, but like I said, is a person thinks they are superior they will find ANYWAY possible to let you know it. KWIM?
