waterbirth/afterbirth question

If you had a waterbirth, did you also birth the placenta in the water? is that allowed or do they make you get out of the tub before they do it?

My Midwife said that they normally deliver the placenta out of the water... something having to do with accurately measuring blood loss or something (could have just been me, I was on blood thinners throughout my last pregnancy). With that being said... I ended up delivering my placenta in the water without complication.

I delivered all my kids ( expect my first LONG STORY) in the tub. Its normal for my midwife to do it this way. I did go to a free standing birth center so it may be different in hospital birth centers.

your kids or placenta? as long as all is good my baby will be born in the water, but i wanted to know about placenta

Both times I delivered my placenta in the water.

I did mine in the water.

Both. I had three water births and delivered the placenta's in the tub.
