I don't use a sling but I recommend the moby wrap(you can make your own too), mei tai and ergo but ergo's are pricey.

I used a wrap (Moby Wrap) from birth to 10 months every single day and then my son started walking and we switched to occasional wearing up until 2 years old. I loved it-easy to do stuff around the house, nurse in public in the wrap, just feel baby close to me at all times. The wrap has a lot of ways to be tied around and once I got a hold of it, it was super easy.

Quoting US Expat in Europe:" I used a wrap (Moby Wrap) from birth to 10 months every single day and then my son started walking and ... [snip!] ... baby close to me at all times. The wrap has a lot of ways to be tied around and once I got a hold of it, it was super easy."

Is the Moby difficult to learn how to use?

No, no, pretty easy-- it has a couple basic ways to tie and the instructions come with the package. It looks complicated because it is so long, but you create support with "cross sections". For me it was awkward when I had to put my son in it through the holes because when he was a newborn I was afraid of dropping him, but you get used to it. It is also very supportive on your back, as opposed to a carrier like the Baby Bjorn.
